The Author Behind the Tide
Jeff R Burt is a storyteller, tattoo artist, and student of history. His debut novel, Captain Burt: Against the Solstice Tide, is a work of fiction rooted in real ancestry — the voyages of Captain Tamberlaine Burt, an eighteenth-century sea captain from Berkley, Massachusetts.
The story moves between modern and ancient times, drawing two relatives together who never should have met — separated by hundreds of years, bound by a strange and uneasy alliance. A mysterious supernatural relic brings the captain and his crew unusual fortune… but every tide takes something back.

When he isn’t writing, Jeff tattoos at Brass Monkey Fabrication, where the same themes that fill his pages — legacy, sacrifice, endurance — take shape in skin. Many of the original pieces you see in the gallery are available as limited prints in the shop.
